Anyone ever toy with these on making a 12-14vdc single supply version. There is (was)a Maplin kit N49FL that is the data sheet amp. But it doesn't seem to be available this side of the pond. I'm interested in modding a diy kit 50 into one, because I have a pair already built that I changed out to BrianGT's. Think I can hang the huge cap to the speaker between the pcb and the output terminal, and put the necessary 22k resistors necessary from V+ to input and one capacitor off the pcb without incurring undue oscillation? Thanks
Over at your local radio shack, you can get a 12-0-12 transformer.
There's also a cute little rectifier (looks like a fork).

But, if you really do want to put a huge cap in-series with the speaker, Cornell-Dublier's Mallory LP332M050C5P3 is workable.

Seems like the local rat shack is moving away from having any "non moving" components, another words, anything that isn't a toy, home entertainment or a cell phone.
