The Zobel network is the wrong side of the output inductor too...
I suspect the fuses were placed there to double-up as emitter resistors (preventing thermal runaway by increasing in resistance as the bias current increased - fuse wire can be quite resistive when hot), without thinking about the pointlessness of the topology from a protection perspective (blowing the speakers to save the output devices!)
Solid-state amp design was in its infancy then I think!
