Japan is 100V mains, not 240.

In any case, unless his amp is plugged in the same outlet as a power tool or blender powered by a "universal motor" (carbon brushes) he should have no difference.

Any improvement should be noise, buzz, clicks, that stuff.

Definitely not soundstage , transparency , granularity or any illusory undescribeable emotion.

I find that when squirrels jump on the transformer my audio quality suffers tremendously.
You were at RMAF that year? I sat in our room for countless hours, wishing I could go out and hear some other stuff. Finally on day 2 when I got someone to take my place and I headed out to listen. Got to the Vandersteen room and they started a song for me. After about 45 seconds, POP! out go the lights. Whole building without power. 😡

It was a squirrel on the transformer.

Went back to our demo room and fired up our battery powered amps. We had music when no one else did. Never did get to hear any other gear that year.

Don't forget about the time smear the birds cause when they perch on the wires, they are totally obnoxious.

Thank you Tippi Hedren.

Exactly. The power board crew will not put a new fuse in the line feeding my transformer until I show them the dead squirrel and prove what caused the failure.
