Linear supply necessary for Tinker board using S/PDIF out?

I'm currently powering my Tinker Board with a cheap switching supply, sending audio to a DAC using the on board S/PDIF.

This setup sounds fine to me but I'm in the process of upgrading my DAC to a newer DSP and I'm wondering if there's much to gain from powering the Tinker Board off a LM350 based supply.

Thoughts?

An LPS would probably make you aware of the noise or muddiness you didn't hear before. l
