hi guys,
i need some help with making a power supply for my 5.1 speakers.
i have to convert 240VAC to 2 outputs : 14.4VDc (125Watts) and 13.5VDc (35Watts) for my amplifiers.
So i have decided to use the a Zener voltage regulator to obtain the output.
I've read the pdf for LM431. but don't quite know if it is possible to use it. Any suggestions.?

Not sure what you are looking for, but how much current do these amps need. Those voltages are pretty low so I don't imagine it puts out a lot of power. Can you give us more details about what it is you are powering and what the power supply is for?

You need far more current than a zener or LM431 regulator can provide. Something like this would be appropriate:
