@schiirrn: Mmm next thing you tell me is that I have to join Scientology for blacker backgrounds and great atmosphere.
@TheSoundMann: if you only have 1 DAC it is special that it is exactly the right one. You are a lucky person!
Ciao!

A solid investement in fancier cables will give you as much as Scientology and wreck your life slightly less. The cables require the same as Scientology.
You need the Moonies for that.@schiirrn: Mmm next thing you tell me is that I have to join Scientology for blacker backgrounds and great atmosphere.
Have you tried a cable cooker?I find most affordable hifi cables to be too bright.
Nearly all of the so-called entry level hifi interconnects do.Which cables have silver in them?
Sometimes. But it almost always has a a fatiguing element similar to digital distortion. And the silver makes them bright, doesn't it?
Logic would suggest a cable with a high capacitance per foot rating but in this niche of audio logic won't get you very far. One can only imagine the mind boggling steps required to reach the conclusions drawn by audiophiles on the issues they ostensibly hear.
I have recieved the power supply (a bit earlier than expected), and it is burning in nicely. Listening the The Beatles Abby Road cd thru my Philips Little Giant as powered by this PS gives me a very clear insight into all of the various distotions in it that I could not previously hear at this level.
The improvements are substantial.
--More substantial sound, more “fleshed-out”, greater body and firmness
--Improved cleanliness of the signal, which equals less grain, improved clarity, and resolution
--Improved soundstaging, greater sense of air
--Greater sense of “ease” to the sound
--Greater sense of energy and power, greater dynamics
--Lower noise floor, letting you hear into the recording even more
I am still waiting on the oiled coax and power cable (for headphone amp).

Listening to A Decade of Steely Dan presents a smooth, liquid sense of air and space along with solid 3-dimensional imaging, which is the best that I have heard from this cd regardless of the megasystems I have listened to it on previously.
What is the source driving your DAC?My current system is comprised of Accupase amps and phonostage, a Micro-Seiki turntable and tonearm with an Air Tight cartridge. My Philips Little Giant is my only DAC currently. My speakers are made by Acoustat.
My Carver MV-5 serving as a transport. What is the source driving your DAC?

My initial listening has been thru a David Yee output transformerless single ended dual triode/pentode headphone amp driving my JVC HA-D990 headphones, With Cardas Golden Hex 5C interconnects between the dac and amp.
Listening to Patricia Barbers Cafe Blue thru this rig allows me to here the acoustical space like never before. Punch and dynamic scale is obviously enhanced to the point that I can't imagine this digital recording being better.

I wish that I could edit my last post, because it appears that both the 6DJ8 and 6SN7 are in fact triodes (although I am using an RCA gray-plate 6080 currently).
