linear or circular polarizers

I have a OPTOMA EZPRO 585 Projector and can someone help me find out if the Polarizing filter is on the lcd or lens I think it is on the LCD but don't know and sure if i need linear or circular polarizers
can someone help me with this all help is needed and will be thankful I think I need to replace it

From what I understand about projectors, the light has to be polarized before it goes through the lcd, so the polarizer won't be on the lens.

I have no idea what Optoma used for a filter or how they attached it. Just curious as to why you think it needs to be replaced.

well 1 has a kind of reddesh tint in the center and my other one has what looks like a hotspot it's like light with some reddesh but if i bring the brightness up it does not look to bad so i'm thinking it may need a new filter hope i'm wrong lol

Since you're guessing as to what the problem is, I suggest you take it to a service center and have it properly diagnosed. No sense replacing parts that don't need to be.

Thats good advise. I dont think you could take a polarizing layer off an lcd without cutting it edge on like sliced bread. It would certainly be ruined.

More likely something is out of alignment and needs adjustment.

they are great projectors I love them

A linear polarizer is less expensive than a circular polarizer -- the circular type are used in camera so as to NOT trick the exposure meter -- and when I say more expensive I mean it -- a circular polarizer for a Rollei or Hasselblad is around $300.

dude that is high they both have great images show very well
just that one that may need some alignment
