A family member asked me if they can play their TV audio over the hifi. Sure - that’s easy with an interconnect cable from the TV audio out headphone jack to the line-in RCA on the Marantz amp, right? Only caveat – this cable needs to be 15 meters (about 50 feet) long if routed to satisfy WAF. Is this feasible at all and what kind of cable do I use?
Headphone jack ought to be able to drive a long cable as its a low impedance source.

I remember seeing some time ago this kind of kits on computer stores comprising a Svideo / Yellow RCA and a standard Stereo RCA cable and indeed they were 10-15m long.
You could however try it with video senders. A video sender can transmit digital spdif signals connecting the signal to the yellow RCA. Trust me. I've tried it with a standard 2.4GHz sender.

Yes a good RCA output stage or headphone jack should be able to drive a 50 foot interconnect. Chose a coax cable with a heavy braided shield.
