About those Vifa TC9 or whatever line arrays, the individual drivers will barely move. Isn't this where suspension nonlinearity, especially mechanical hysteresis will begin to matter?

Compared to a typical 5 - 7 in driver, there is an awful lot of rubber surround and spider to me moved -- by a very small signal!

Thanks for your input! I agree that small movement is ideal for motor / magnetic circuit derived problems. However, there is no small amount of mechanical hysteresis and related nonlinearity in the soft parts of the driver. I am particularly worried about this when there is no feedback mechanism to attenuate or sufficient excursion to break up low-level nonlinearity.

Allowing sufficient LF might actually a good idea to resolve this issue!
