I have the 75 watt version of this amp, but I've become totally disappointing with the lack of mid range frequencies in its sound. I bought used at a good price, while looking for something light that would be adequate for rock/blues jams in small clubs. Sadly my ears always fool me. You know... sounded decent in the store, but whenever I bring it out it seems like a shrilly tinny sound, and that even with the neck pickup of a vintage Les Paul, and regardless of the settings I tweak.
Anyway, long story short, I do have a few other 12" guitar speakers around that would fit, and i wonder if anyone with a similar opinion of this amp thinks a better speaker (or even just a different speaker) might improve things. I'm tempted to just cut my losses, chalk it up to experience, and maybe go look for a vintage Fender.
