I’ve noticed that many people are choosing to use Lilliput screens for their projector / RPTV projects, I too am considering this, so I though it would be useful to have a page detailing the specification of these screens and what size people can project the images up to successfully, e.g. what diagonal size can they get before pixilation becomes a problem, and from what seating distance does pixilation become noticeable for individual screen sizes, e.g what is the viewing distance, and how the screen is quality wise ect (in terms of resolution and pixilation).

Here is some data that I have found for some of their screens which may be useful to some of you, n.b the prices are in Great British Pounds (GBP) I have put an aprox USD price conversion so our friends in the USA know ruffuly what price it is, also lots of people know what a USD is but not always a GBP, so be aware the USD prices may not be entirely correct in your area!:

the touchscreen one is useless for diy as we have no need for it, the best one is the 7" XGA, its 150£ including postage from hong kong, and available on the us ebay, and has res of 1024x768

it has high res, no tv tuner, just an LCD which is what we need which also makes it easy to strip,

i have a spare light kit, if you want one, i'm in the uk also,

318gl 70tv

I think those tv tuner capable monitor is far more complicated to strip out
I already opened the back cover of lilliput 318gl 70tv, the ribbon cable is so short to occupy diy martters.
I dont know where can i found the longer ribbon cable if i can manage one then I will do some........
In the mean time it is in my car use........shouldnt it?
another thing that the white plastic cover behind the LCD with cables routed may be time consuming to re setup in the PRO box.
I still dont know that it is reflective or transmissive.
Sonner or later it is wise to resell it.

I welcome any advise about LILLIPUT 318gl 70tv

thx

Has any one used the touchscreen model with success? What I mean is, Can I remove the touchscreen or can I use this model in spite of the touchsreen? I ask 'cause right now I can only find the touchscreen model for sale.:headbash:

Would be nice for some honest opinions from people who have built Lilliput based DIY projectors.
