I dont mean to thread jack but have you seen these? its a car comp made by epia, very small as you can see, i think the mobo's are about $120, the whole comp can be made for $350 i think from memory from hearing it from others. You can get the 12v psu for it aswell for about $25 from memory. I wouldnt mind one of these myself, the possibilities are endless, you gota love it lol😀

VERY VERY cool! heh
Here is a link to a 8.4 inch 4:3 NEC XGA LCD panel. It's possible it may work with the surplus shed copier lens and might be a good alternative to the lilliput.

Here in Holland the lilliput is sold for 159,90 euro. Thats cheap and you don't pay extra tax for importing it!
look for the topic on european shops, you will find the shop there!!!!!!!
That one doesn't have vga input and it only has 480 x 235 resolution.
lilliput 7" XGA from china.. is it worth?
I live in Europe and I'll be in china in april,
is it worth for buying Lilliput 7" 619GL-70NP (XGA)
for DIY projection?
Is resolution and response time enough?
Is it easy to strip?
Please post if you have any good or bad feedpack.
It costs €210 in Europe.
regards

hi @ all,
yes, it is safe for diy. i've built one beamer w that lilli 7" vga.
pics to be seen here: http://web102.sun-15.de/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=32146#32146
and it is easy to strip. i did it like the german "how-to" pdf.
but ace3000_1 is right. do not bend that little ribbon flat cable as shown in the a.m. "how-to". i broke it at my first trial.
keep an eye on it and take care that you are always grounded while handling due to electrical discharging.
where to buy?
german diy-community forum members have a special price. 219 Euro (approx. 260 bucks). follow this link. http://www.cartft.com/shop/catalog/item/?wm_item_id=315
he'll ship worldwide.

Stripping Lilliput
Hi all I've been reading the forums for a while now, dam good stuff in here.. Just starting out..
Question? have i done everything I need to strip the lilliput.
I've opened it up and taken out the back light, the plastic sheet and the 4 loose filter sheets. Is this all I have to do?
Just wondering as I've projected my 250w light though it, with alans fresnels and Surplus sheds copy lense and all i get is a projection of the light globe on the wall.
I can see the picture on the LCD screen quite brightly but not throught to the wall.
Thanx
Chris

😡 aaargh, I've never had much luck with screws, don't know why, but I just screw them up lol. Anyway, I am a bit stuck with the three screws holding the lcd receiver, I don't know if it is possible to undo them any-more, but do you have any suggestions?
Oh, well, I got it stripped anyway, with a little help from ace, and now it seems that I have broken the ground connection from the receiver on the lcd to the metal case around it, I'll have to solder it back up tomorrow, when I am awake lol. One thing I did discover from this is that there is a screen displayed with red chinese characters, outlined in black, with copyright sammy displayed in the bottom right corner, dunno why it comes up though.
