I had a rummage around but there's no setting that allows the reactions to be seen or not seen on a user by user basis.Should you decide to keep it, can this later be switched off in the user profile?
Agree. But then again Farcebook's issues are deeper rooted than the reaction emojis. I check in on my business pages every now and then but aside from that it's been nearly two years since I quit FB cold turkey. I don't miss it. I know who my actual friends are.I think Facebook's problem is when they added the angry and laughing emojis. People will go out on a limb and express an opinion and then someone will just laugh at them.
On a different note, enabling the Like button doesn't seem to have set the world on fire or to have caused groundwater contamination...

Which may be why I've personally never seen the angry or laughing emoji's used for evil on any forum. But then again Farcebook's issues are deeper rooted than the reaction emojis.
I was about to say the same. The forum hasn't self destructed since the feature was turned on.enabling the Like button doesn't seem to have set the world on fire or to have caused groundwater contamination...
Someone liked me so I liked them back.

Yeah, sky hasn't fallen, but it feels odd to me because the level of discourse here is higher-altitude--the bar to receive a like here would prompt raging gushy love elsewhere 🙂

I would use a like button if someone activated the option to display a 24 hour clock 😉

We are leaving them on for the moment. We have like and thanks. Would other options help I wonder.
Honestly, do not like either. Did not know that was 'thanks', looks like a prayer.
Technically it's the "folded hands" emoji: https://emojipedia.org/folded-hands/I think it's supposed to be a high-five. Many use it to indicate prayer.

As with most the meaning is context sensitive. I find these days that thumbs up as a general affirmation in context easily conveys thanks, and is often used that way. When both are available it's typically casual thanks vs. considered thanks.
Having paid some attention the past couple weeks (folded hands just isn't used much) it seems it's mostly used as "please".Technically it's the "folded hands" emoji: https://emojipedia.org/folded-hands/
