Lightware Viewpoint 100

I have a Lightware Viewpoint 100 projector. The front opens up and there is a slider with two bulbs on it (so that you have an immediate spare in case one goes out during a presentation).

The bulbs sits back in a notch that aligns it with some sort of a lens that is in place behind it. This lens apparently focuses the light coming off of the bulb so that it is brighter than it would otherwise be (it does not have anything to do with the image itself).

What is this lens called? I don't have a manual for the projector (my work had two and gave them away in a lottery to their employees - I was lucky enough to get one but I have no manual for it). Whatever it is, it is broken. I have removed it, but I don't even know what to ask for to get a replacement.

To make things harder, they haven't made these projectors for 10 years, though they were top of the line when they did. And I think that Lightware has gone out of business.

If anyone knows anything about these projectors and could give me some help it would be greatly appreciated!!

sounds like either the aspheric/condenser lens has cracked or it is the reflector you are talking about. could you post a picture?

Unfortunately, it is not easy to replace if the exact FL and diameter of the lens is not known, but one could always try a generic condensing lens in there and see if it does the job.

Finding an exact replacement may be difficult, but like I said - you could try getting a replacement plano convex lens. try looking at sites such as surplusshed.com; diyprojectorkits.com or even ask ywh here on the site if he has a suitable lens for you

Hi MiCrooks !
I know you need this one
this is one of my projector.
but the Lightware Viewpoint 100 projector is so cheaper now. I have no better price for a condenser lens
