see http://www.ushio.com/files/UHI-SE SpecSheet 1101.pdf these bulbs are much much smaller, both in wattage (up to 150) and size. they are UV protected, G12 base, "axial arc" (smaller more point-like source), the UHI-S150DM/A is 4200K/13000 lumens/10000 hours and uses m102 ballast.
only source i've been able to find is http://www.purelandsupply.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=714694|1108137&PRID=1160766 - $52.
only problem is i am unable to find a G12 socket for mounting these 🙁

I actually use similar lamp by philips ($56) the dimensions are pretty much the same and so as the brighness. I had hard time finding the socket untill I discovered a local place where they have it for $9 each and bought G12 and G9.5 for my other lamp.
The first link has the home page address describing the socket and the second link has the contact info. I bought it from one of their local distributor in San Francisco.

Sorry the second link is a pdf file but click on the ordering info to get the addresses of local distributor near you.
I now have the lamp, ballast, socket, and bought a nice ellipsoidal reflector to go with the lamp dimension. I am now working on a way to connect the lamp&socket assembly with the reflector so that the lamp is located in the focus point of the reflector..its little tricky since I have to come up with some mechanism where I can slide the lamp back and forth to get it right in place. I will post few pictures on the forum later but here is some pics from my other thread

Also, if you are going to use ellipsoidal reflector, we have pretty good discussion there on that.

"Enclosed Luminaires Only"
i assume this means the lamp puts out UV - i hope your setup is shielded.
My projector is not finished yet but I have an elliptical reflector which covers the lamp and the focus point where light will gather will have a condenser lense so all light has to go through the lens which (as far as I know) will filter UV.
I might use a UV filter film/glass between my LCD and the lamp.
