I have a ESP P127 TDA7293 amp board that I have used for a year or so with a linear power supply. I just finished moving it to a smaller case with a smps300RS power supply and added an input selector switch before the volume control.
Everything is working great except I get a very light, random popping sound through both channels at the same time. It sounds like a little static electric sound. It is only noticeable when playing music with a fair amount of quiet sections. The noise wasn't there with the linear power supply but with new wiring and everything it could be something besides the power supply. Suggestions?

Hi
- i would check the electrical contacts again. especially GND.
- isolation of the chips mounting screw.
- isolation of the heat sink
- maybe re use for testing your old linear power supply and power up your amp boards. first 1 channel after the other. is popping still there?
I recently designed a TDA7376B amplifier with valve front end.
I had a SMPS lying around so used that.
I got like a clicking sound on power up.
Turned out the SMPS doesnt like the 1000uF caps on the amp or the valve heater being low impedance on power up. The supply rail was bouncing on and off due to over load.
I found a analog supply and that works fine.
