whats the best way to limit the amount of light leave out of the fan hole? i've seen some ppl using fabrics, but that would limit the airflow quite a bit
i was thinking of some kind of slat setup like on the 80's corvettes with the sun-slat things...

I work with "High End" lights for a living... if you check out their site (www.highend.com) - look up the layout for their new Trackspot 2 units.
They simply use two plates of steel mounted in a pyramid shape to the inside of the fan. Works like a charm. Their other units use blower type fans. You get the same effect with blower fans but because they move less air you'll need a bunch of them. The pyramid idea would be best.
