Lexan vs Glass for blocking Vis/UV Light

Hey,
I have been reading about lexan and have seen some qualities that look good for protecting our LCDs. They are very Transparent, adn seem to block UV light. Some is also made to block heat. Am I right that UV light = heat? or is it infra-red? anyway, I currently have a piece of glass in front of my LCD and fresnels and it does a pretty good job of blocking heat.... I am not sure about UV because I have no way of telling. I just know that it does get fairly warm. Definately more warm than I would ever want my LCD to get. My LCD rarely gets warm. I am upgrading my fresnels so that they fit my entire LCD, 15" and I will need to replace my glass too. I am trying to decide weather I should go with lexan or glass. It probobly doesn't make that big of a difference, but I am curious to see what people have found or what they think.

Thanks

Sweet!

I actually do happen to be the Dwiel from gamedev 😉 I feel like a celebrity. I didn't think anyone on gamedev knew me by name... ;-) Now I am just curious as to how you remember me... as helpful or as crapful... prolly not crapful because I rarely participate in the lounge threads...

Whats your Gamedev name?

Thanx for clairfing the heat=infra-red!

Hey hobo! I've seen you round there... quite a few posts it seems. You working on a game or anything?

anyway, I am still thinking about just putting a condensor lens before my light which would probobly beinifit me in many ways. I doubt that I would be able to find a lexan condensor, nor a reason to get one.

Anyway, still would be very interested in using lexan to block the UV light
