Sorry, OFF
Eva!
You are welcome!
Please tell me your experiences about it detailed! (Maybe in an other topic, where it is ON.) I haven't tried center gapped EE yet.

Hello all,
just a quick question.. Is it really a big difference USING air gapped ferrites than iron powder ring??
I have lots of iron powder (colored RED,black, yellow, blue) from many dead PC PS...
AND i got ONLY 1 "ferrite material" E-E core from an epson printer PS..... would this help?

Eh? I think you got it backwards. First figure out the specs you need such as frequency range, loss factor, etc., then choose a core depending on that. A comparison of the most common ferrite and powder cores can be seen for example here:

I did this circuit.I obtained high difficult from circuit does, but there is one problem;a little parasite and noise.I didn't use feedback and level shifters.levelshifter in IR2113 anyway
I am waiting for your answer
Sorry my english.

Hey Tekko, you look cute on that pics.😀 .And we have same eyeglasses too😉. So, this is your latest project. Looks good to me. Please update us how it sound..

Leddie, the sound is very good, so good that i have to test the amp on some better speakers than my old ones i had to rebuild that i use as computer speakers. The thing runs on 37 volts for now, which all the others could not do without burning up.
What about you, built your circuit yet ?

So far I'm still in the process of designing a class D amp but for 12V car audio use at the moment. Something is unique about the circuit because this amp will drive a special subwoofer That doesnt exist yet but still under development stage 😉
Tekko said:Make a 0.5ohm subwoofer so you can run the amp directly on 12v 😉😀
That is exactly I'm trying to do. I'm going to use dual voice coil with few number of turns but more thicker wire to handle more currents.😀
Exactly yes. There are plenty of subwoofer parts here like cones, baskets, including voice coils, but I prefer to wind it by myself because of the impedance that I need is too low and I dont like to use several subs in parallel due to space issue and cost.
No, I dont have MSN.
No, I dont have MSN.
Wheeeeeyyyyyyy
😀 First ever amp to run on its own power supply!!!
😀 😀
42V goes into the amp and no smoke in sight, only clean sound out!!

Tekko's not been on the forum since early January.
He used to come to IRC but hasn't been there even longer.

I built you circuit this afternoon, the mosfets melted into my breadboard and it caught fire. I don't know what's wrong with it, have more mosfets but no more breadboards. Now I see why you're using a PCB for prototyping. A jamaican told me it was because my air coils are EMI infernos. What core should I use?
Old memories
