I just picked up a pair of "Legend Audio" indoor / outdoor speakers. They are pretty nice and I just happen to need a pair. 100% diecast, decent quality drivers and crossover. What more could I want?
One unit was dropped and the tweeter split apart where the magnet assembly had been glued to the diaphragm assembly. Unfortunately, there is no locating shoulder or pins, there is no way to re-align in order to glue. The magnet will not allow a gap without the original fixture and tooling. Bum.
Anyone know Legend Audio from CA? www.legendaudio.net. These are LEG-100's. Anyone recognize this tweeter? Any ideas?
Any help is appreciated. I'd like to use these.
Thanks,
Jocko

it appears to me that the bucking magnet/sheild as come of.looks like the magnet and tweeter is fine.just glue the sheilding back on.thats probaly what they did in the first place and the glue came loose.
No, the main magnet assembly is gone.
The bucking magnet came off, too, but that was because it had a screw that I removed. The picture was taken after I put it back together. There is way to locate the magnet, the steel core always pulls to one side or another and the voice coil gets pinched.
I POSSIBLY could put it back together with some shims if I pulled the diaphragm and worked from the front. However, I assume there was fluid behind there... This guy is dead, IMO.

Here is a pic of the tweeter apart.
Notice once the front steel flange of the magnet assembly is glued to the magnet itself (could be done w/ shims), the diaphragm and front plate are held with three screws. I could probably get this back together allright, provided the coil is still good. However, I could not replace the fluid.
Does this construction point to a particular manufacturer?
I am intrigued by the three screw design and the front plate. If I found a similar three screw design, I could swap out the front plate and be back in business!
No word from Legend Audio yet....

Bump...
I really hope I can replace this tweeter. These are awfully nice outdoor speakers, like the big Minimus but better.

Hi,
legend will not supply spares ? or any information ? why not ?
if pushed you can reuse both tweeters front plates with another tweeter.
🙂/sreten.
