Most pilot lamp manufacturers such as Chicago Miniature et al now make LED replacements for Neon lamps (NE-51, NE-51H). They are exact replacements physically. I have some rated @ 250 vac / vdc.
I like the looks of the Neons and old school lampholders and lenses so these work well for me. I have a small stock of NE-51's & NE-51H's of unknown age, and some are difficult to ionize and sustain glowing at their rated voltage. One makes a weird strobish effect, and I'm keeping it for kicks. The rest have to go into File 13.
