it is an interesting topic, to refurbish the commercial projectors.
But there is a long way for LED lamp to replace troditional projectors totally.

Only if, the light of more than 6000 lumens can be gathered to be a parrelel light ( no larger than 1.3"), the LED can replace the traditional lamp. Now, the single LED lmap can give off no more than 300 lumens. Becasue of the physical dimension restrictions, 20 pcs of LED lamps can not be put together ( to make the size less than 1.3"), so we have to wait

I am not sure I explains it very clearly, hope you all understand it

there's a nice long thread at lumenlab about some guys that have successfully retrofitted commercial projector with LEDs and some more busy with it right now so it may be worth your while to have a look. The results are pretty good, and with new high power LEDs being released (eg Phlatlight's LEDs are supposed to be used in new commercial units), the results look promising

Hi,
Thanks for your professional Q.

1. This is the result of the test. and the screen is 72" ( 4;3)
2. we have the simulatiing result. I will post it a few days later. According to the data, it is even better.

3. You can send a msg to me for more info abt it

thanks !
there was a problem to add LED,
this diagram is like yours I think. I drawn ther other
in the projector lens, there is a image of flyeyes lens, diameter of your flyeyes lens is about 65mm, so the image of flyeyes lens is 65mm too if the L1=L2, the effective aperture of most projector lens in China is about 65mm,

you have to get 80mm effective aperture if you need to add LED,
or the light of other LED can not entrance pupil
