leaving

Hi.

I am.thinking of leaving.

I either seem to rub people.up.the wrong way, attract dissent from those in trying to help, go offtopic or otherwise talk nonsense.

I would like to know how I go about deleting account from moderation team.

I would like to say a big thank you to those who have helped me numerous times.

Off.the top.of my head, planet10, mooly, andrewT, sreten, infinia, rayma, pano, inductor, picowallspeaker; to name the few I recall.

From now on I choose to observe and learn from the 'visitor' perspective.

Once again, thank you all. Your advice and sometimes short reply (sreten, andrewt in particular) have helped me look harder at my work, and better than just providing and answer, you have done what good teachers do - provoke thought and allow me to approach the problems myself and LEARN.

thank you and so long.

Greg (well meaning, honest but average Engineer)

Don't be silly. I've not really noticed any of your "faults" you list, well not in a major way anyway. Everybody gets things wrong from time to time, the big thing is being able to deal with that and learn.

If there is some stress in your life just do something else for a bit then come back. Don't get wound up over a forum. Some people are a bit blunt, but just look past that, it's not a personal attack it's just their manner.

Seems daft to me to delete your account but still come back to browse. That shows you are still interested, so stay involved.

Mondo I echo richie00boy's comments. We do not delete accounts, we can disable at your request I suggest you think about this seriously. I think I took a four year break from the forum at one point!

Tony.

Lol is it?

Seriously though, I think I need to take a step back.

I'm used to talking before thinking things through, but the habit probably annoys me more than anyone else.

Its just a little much when I try to help, despite admittedly not being an authority (but not totally green either), send a pm offering help, then get told I'm polluting threads with my plans to sell pcbs...(not even mentioned outside a pm)

So a sabbatical it is 😉

FWIW when I get my filter pcbs printed, any over production will be on offer for cost plus postage. And if there is no interest, I will be quite happy to have 2-4 spares for future use.

I don't have the gall for a real commercial enterprise 🙂 I have little enough time for guitar playing as it is.

So ta ra, for now.

Sometimes there is a language barrier too. I received a barrage of threats from a new member here once. Sometimes people don't express themselves well or misunderstand what you say, when using their second language (although in my case I think even allowing for that, they were still out of order). Don't let one idiot spoil things for you.

Something said to me,

I have reflected on it many times and it was a member here that said it..

He said quote "its always better to be part of something than the alternative (nothing)" Act in haste and repent at leisure..
Its easy to be alone and difficult sometimes not to be!

I remember when an Engineer friend that was much better than I at circuit design died, and one day I found a circuit drawn by him and thought how did he say that worked again and forgot myself..then remembering he was now dead. The realisation of the lost friend and help.
Do you really want to go?

Regards
M. Gregg

Hi,

Some people don't want help, they want to be agreed with,
even if they are totally wrong. You just ran into one such
morose bore, don't take it personally, its he who is wrong.

rgds, sreten.

Chat groups can be a minefield.
I have been on them since the 1990's.
Some people are just very abrasive and it takes little to upset them.
Some people turn what you say around to mean something completely different to cause trouble

I have found I have to be very careful what I say. I quite often write reply's to messages then just delete them.

While there are some great contributors there also some who simply talk rubbish.
I have had a reply to one of my threads only for the next reply to be completely opposite in advice to the first reply.

a voluntary temporary leave of absence from distempered dialogue should be considered a mandatory item on any of ours' checklist on the path towards maintenance of sanity- and for those who don't quite achieve that goal - well, when judged, it'll be the attempt that matters most

mondo - best wishes
