I assume 5ar4 is to rectify high voltage which is why not suitable for 18v
PLs correct me if I'm wrong
Can someone suggest low voltage tube rec with higher current?
Where are u Erwin ?
if u in JKT u can go to LTC and ask him, this the website n address.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the suggestion and help.
think my project is abit unreasonable as it draw too low voltage for the tube rectifier to work. i might change the project to power my tube buffer 2 x 6ak5 that need the rectifier to output 250v.
Hi kevinkr, Tungar bulbs looks good. checking out ebay result in the listing of too vintage bulb. some seems unusable. maybe i will research more on this. thx
Hi JC951t, dropping 90v to 30v, maybe too much gap. what do you think? thx
Hi davesg88, i am in Medan. I have email them enquiring other tubes before. thx for the tips. i will seeks their help.

Boris_The_Blade said:2x 6CM3 might get you close.... but, solid state diodes are the best bet for this app. Something as cheap as 1N4002 would do. pennies...
edit: with 6CD3 in psudii, a 36VCT tranny will only get you ~10VDC at 150mA load.... 'taint gonna cut it
Hi Boris_The_Blade
Please bare with my questions, how you simulate psud2 to get "6CD3 in psudii, a 36VCT tranny will only get you ~10VDC at 150mA load...."?
i only introduced to this software for 2 days. i am leaning. thx
hi guys
another newbie question about tube rectifier EZ81
referencing:
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/short/001/e/EZ81.gif
there is a "Rt=min 2x250ohm". what does it mean? min of 500ohm resistance before the rectifier? or 250ohm for each transformer secondary?
my question is:
for example is the power transformer has 120ohm internal resistant.
how big the limiting resistor needed to be added between the power transformer and EZ81 ? 2 pcs of 130R? thx in adv

Rt is the protective resistance of the tube. Download the tube data from here http://sarris.info/main/tube-data to see details

Hi Sarrisk
thanks, but how to apply them? i repeat my question:
for example is the power transformer has 120ohm internal resistant.
how big the limiting resistor needed to be added between the power transformer and EZ81 ? 2 pcs of 130R?
how bout for 6x4 Rt = 150ohm, how much the resistance need to be added between the PT and 6X4 if the PT internal resistance is 120ohm?
whats the recommended wattage for this resistors between PT and tube rectifier? thx
