leak tl12+

i have 2 beautiful leak tl12+ (both work fine) and was wondering do i need to obtain 2 leak point one plus pre amps to get the best out of them or is there something else that i could use. 🙂

Put a volume pot and selector switch in a box. Or buy a 'passive preamp' (same thing). These old amps do not need a preamp, unless you have a turntable.

thanks for the reply DF96, and presumably i would feed the input to the leaks on pin 8 and either pin 1 or 7 for earth ?

These are my dream amps. I hope to own a pair one day.

I would use a good vintage tube preamp with them - Marantz 7C or Fisher 400-CX2.

The leak TL 12+ are the best of the Leak series, much better than the earlier TL12 with KT66's which has a very poor quality out put transformer, no bass. The leak pre-amps are not very good, the phono stage is terrible, you would be much better making a pre.
