Leach Amp pcb group buy interest

Luke,
I would probably use the 3 watt Panasonic resistor if I was sure they would be reliable. The First Watt amps running Class A are pushing some fairly large currents and they have been in operation for quite some time.
The Mills at Digikey in 50 lots are less than 2.00 dollars which I guess is something I can survive.

I bought some 2sc Sanyo CRT small signal transistors for the frontend at MCM electronics. They were less than 50 cents each. They have 300 Vceo, and real good Ft,Hfe and less than 3 pf. Also got some 1/16 heatshrink to reconfigure the leads for what we have.

I have gotten most of the BOM laid out at Mouser and Digikey. All for less than 100.00 dollars. NOT including the power supply. I have a nice pile of aluminum at pre 2010 prices in the shop ready to cut.

Need some time!!!!

How about posting a copy of the Mouser and Digiy key oder forma with part number, etc?

Buy the way, here is a source for the 0.47, 5W resistors if you can't find them elsewhere. They are wire wound. Maybe not so good?

All of the resistors were chosen to fit where they need to go. They are the correct length and ohm value. Dr. Leach in his article always said 5% resistors would work fine. If you check each before soldering they usually are closer to 1.5-2 percent. They are also CHEAP. I gave up on high priced parts when I did not hear any difference. Anyway use what you like or not.
If I can find the BOM from Mouser I will post it. Kind of got lost on the website. There are much cheaper and better parts but freight will be murder.

Has anyone checked on the heatsinks? Again, barrodboss on EBAY has some nice sinks for a good price and very good service.

Are these resistors good are they?
I certainly understand the question. For this and my posts above. It keeps all of us on our toes. 😉

YMMV, buyer beware...I have no affiliation or first hand knowledge with which to answer your question.

A search will find references to these resistors on this forum as well as the availability of them in other vendor's offerings beside what appear to be "acceptable/good" products.

I will add that one of the points I want to make is for the establishment of some perception of the "real" worth of these parts. Sure, I can find somebody willing to sell me something for $2. I've got the time, and my $$$ is precious, so I'll try to find the same for $0.50

the 1Uf film caps have quite a small pitch. Anyone got a part for these. Also never used the little round fuses before, are these readily available?
1uF MKS/MKT are available in 5mm pin pitch.
I hear that one manufacturer makes an MKP in this size. It will be much bulkier than MKS/MKT. Check footprints of all before ordering.

The round fuses are available, but I could not find the fuse holders in the UK.
I soldered these fuses direct to the PCB. Be careful, particularly with start up currents, they are difficult to remove (PTH and heavy copper trace thickness and thick PCB all increase the skill required to remove these without damaging the PCB).

Luke,
The Sanyo transistors 2sa1371/2sc3468 which I have ordered are about 40 cents apiece from MCM electronics. If you look up the specs on these and you are interested I will be more than happy to ship them to you. The 2sc is back ordered until the middle of May, but still will be available.
Let me know and I will place an order for them. The 1/16 heatshrink is 1.69 for 4 feet. I do not know what that is in metric.
If anyone can find a high voltage transitor for the TO-92 position with the excellent specs and FOOTPRINT that would be nice.
I am going to keep the mje340/350 and drivers per the BOM. They have specs well within reason and I have some on hand.

Ed lafontaine,
I did not receive any money in my paypal account with your name on it that is why the boards were not shipped. I plan to send out a set once all of the international and domestic units have arrived. I have four boards and will part with 2 of them to fill your order. If the funds do not show up at paypal I have to assume that those persons dropped out. I also had a hard time placing legitimate names to the names we use here at DIY audio. It can be difficult.

I also have 10 of the Leach 10 transitor boards left over if anyone is interested email me.
