le monstre input caps

hi all
I have just finished a le,monstre build and so far its working great and sounds very nice

My question is about the input caps c1 and c5 which are 470u
can they be removed or replaced with mundorf silver oil etc and if so what values

my parts box has the following
silmic 220uf
muse 220uf
mundorf supreme 100uf
mundorf silver oil 3.9u
mundorf silver gold 2.7uf

any other suggestions?

please post the schematic you are using.
afaik the (Hiraga) Le Monstre doesn't have input caps.

the caps i,m refering to are the 47uf x 2

I'd stick with the original value of 47uF and use good quality, low ESR caps

i will do some shopping around

I have to say that this is a very ,very good sounding amplifier its being used along side some aleph 2 mono blocks and its a different sound but every bit as good

I like it very much as well.
Sometimes it can be picky about the speaker it's connected to.

Its currently being used to drive some gpa altec drivers

they are 97db and an 8 ohm load so just about a perfect match

What would the effect be if i replaced the 470uf with some nichicon kz 220uf?

I only ask as they are very good caps and in my parts bin

Depends on the rest of the power supply you are using (since that's what they are for), but I doubt you'll hear much difference.
