LCD Projector from an LCD monitor?

First...yes...I just read the LCD FAQ. I have quite an abundance of 12.1" 800x600 LCD monitors. (30 actually) I know about making a projector from an overhead projector and one of those special overhead LCDs, but can it be done from an LCD monitor? I mean...without actually shining the light through the panel itself?

There are a couple of threads on this topic. basicly you need to dismentle the monitor, remove the back light and control boards on the back, then put it on the OHP. So, you do 'shin' light through it.

by the way, can you post the picture and specs of these 12.1" lcd monitors?

So there is no way to do it without completely taking the LCD apart? 🙁 I might be selling a couple of them...already have sold about 25 in other places. 😉 I don't really have any specs on it, they came from "internet terminals" used in airports for people to go online while waiting for their flight. They use a standard molex connector for power, like you would use on a hard drive or something.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

It is possblie I tried testing with a mirror with it and ALLOT of light, but it's far from a good picture.
I had 2 mirrors accual one to beam the light and one the reflect the picture.
But I don't recommend it to ya, dismantle a LCD is much much easier.

I've been selling them for about $150...everybody just LOVES them. I know I will be selling 1 more....I don't know about the rest yet. I am also not quite ready to sell the one. I will post here when I sell it.

Why is it that when I post something here it doesn't show up for about an hour?

Molex connector?

The colors are NOT the same as computer molex connectors. They probably do NOT use the same voltages. Don't blow it up!!!

Make sure you whip out your meter and check, double-check, and triple-check everything and make sure you have all the voltages correct.

Radio Shack carries all kinds of molex connectors. You might find something equivelant there, and then you can splice your own connector to your own power supply and MAKE SURE YOU GET IT RIGHT!!! DON'T BLOW IT UP!!!

The colors don't matter...they all work just fine on a standard molex connector. As I said, I've sold about 25 of these, everybody really loves them, and they are all being connected to computer power supplies. I removed these myself from standard computers in an industrial case.
