LCD pannel Problem

I recently bought an LCD from a user on this site. I tested it when i got it and it worked (the no im put signal showed) i went to throw it into my test optical bench today, and it went ahead and powered on after many pushes of the power button (for some reason at one point i had to hold it) and it displayed my computer picture well for about 3-4 minutes, then it started like...dissapearing on the top middle, then sort of distorted...and now i cannot get any responce out of it except a flash of small colored lines randomly arround the pannel the second i plug it in.

i dont think i broke any of the cables...i suppose it is a possibility though because when it first dimmed in the center, i moved it forward, and it seemed to fix it, but when i let go it went back to the same thing.

i checked on the PS i was using and it is 12v 1000ma (1amp) and after some research on the forums i saw that a few peoples monitors are arround 3.8amps so i figured i underpowered it. im not sure how this can effect the pannel...hopefully not...horribly. so i took the COmputer PS i am going to use for fans and sniped the yellow and black wire and connected that to the round plug on my other PS and that did not work (i tried reversing the wires just in case i got em backwards). this btw did not even elicit the colored lines, and when i switched back, colored lines came again.

i siliconed the conector cables from the boards to the lcd a few days ago, so i cannot see if they are a problem.

the only other thing i can think i did is i had to set the (i think its called the inverter board (the one power and vga is pluged into) )sort of on the board that attatches to the lcd near the extended ffc cable, and when it set on this small blue tab sticking oiut it seemed toeffect the pic.

ahhh problems....

this is my first project and i wanna thank all you guys for your plethera of knowledge.

UPDATE:

i was playing arround with the bottem ffc connection today and discovered it was loose, after a bit of tinkering i got it to at least respond when i pushed the power button. it seems like the check imput singnal box is up on the screen, but it is really stretched...im not sure as to how to fix that but...at least its displaying. also, how are you guys securing the ffc cable in place, it will not go into its holder very far, and im fairly afraid to force too hard....

Well i had it all fixed and nice, it turned out to be a problem with the ffc cable, so i got it back in place, and siliconed the heck out of it. i had it workin good for about a day, and it was working great before i left to go to a show. well when i got back like 4 hours late, same thing. just lines. so i threw my hands up in disgust and took it in onto the operating table. i striped off all the silicone i could and tried fidleing arround for about an hour....no results. i scanned allll over the boards for a burn or char or cable break and couldnt find any. all that i can get it to do is change the position of the colored lines....

im really tired of it!

please any help?

ive read in the posts that colored lines can indicate a broken edge connector....but i just cant believe it just sitting there caused a break in a cable. Ive been talking to the user who sold me th pannel (really nice guy) and he siad it *could* be the controler board. i dont really know what im looking for in the way of breaks or shorts, however. i just dont know. the ffc cable was held perfect and extreemely tight with the silicone/spacer. i checked the bunch of cables connecting the controler board to the pcb board, but they look fine. i can not even got it to say *no signal imput* i saw another post about someone thinking it was the controller board, but ACE told him to check the ffc cables more and it was fixed. if pics would help id be glad to pos em....thanks
