I apologize for showing off... but I am just a little proud of my collection. 🙂
I even left out all the machines in the house that don't belong to me but that I'm storing for a friend (Pole Position II, Space Duel, Mortal Kombat, Galaga, and a Xenon Pinball) And not all of them work... that's part of the fun of collecting arcade and pinball machines... working on them.
If your ever in the KC area, give me a holler, you can come by and check it out and help yourself to the beer fridge.

dunno where KC is but I might be visiting the usa next year and will hire out a harley or some other bike to tour the place. The chance of games and beer is too good a chance to miss. thats if the beer is free
ham_anegg said:so how is that x2vga thing work then? how is it going to connect to your panel and yer computer? whats that about its specs. 480p, 720p, 1080i? what does that mean??? does it mean you have to have your pc on then to play it on the projection? explain? I'm confused..
Also, I plan to hook up me xbox to my home theatre amp. As I said I got a s-video cable that aslo has the red and white audio connections. But when I think about it, how on earth is that gonna work with the polaroid 3000 because obviously the wires are far too short to b able to divert the red and white cables to the amp. Is there some sort of red and white cable that extends the length of the wires. Otherwise, how will I set it up? any ideas?
P.S MY pc isnt going to have anything to do with the projection unless i want to watch tv. Any help is much appreciated. thanks
No, you do not have to have your PC on or anything. The LCD has a VGA (monitor) input. So you just connect the x2vga to the xbox and then connect the VGA cable to your panel. Oh and the best thing about this is that as you just said about the red and white cables, the x2vga converter has audio inputs, so you don't have to connect them to the projection panel, you can just connect your surround directly to the x2vga high definition pack.
From what I've heard, the x2vga is SUPER GOOD. Think of it this way..
There are Composite cables (video), wich makes the picture look really blurry and just flat out crappy. And then there are S-video cables, wich is a step higher then composite ones, pretty good quality but not superb in anyway. And then there are component cables wich are not MUCH better then S-video cables if you just plug them in BUT if you use Progressive scan with them!! (wich is only possible with either component cables or...VGA cables). And because most (If not ALL of them) projection panels does not have component inputs, I chose to get this VGA pack.
Oh and btw, if you haven't noticed by now, I apologize for my very lame english skills 🙄
lame english skills? I haven't noticed them at all, you speak/type as if english was your first language.
Hmm, as for the x2vga, I'll look into buying one, but for $64.99, its quite a bit for just a small box, dont you agree. And they only sell them in america, and I dont have visa or mastercard unfortunately. whimper. Post some pictures of your set-up sometime, when it is fully set up, and I'll do the same to see if there is that much of a difference. Thats if you can get good pictures.
I suppose I may have to buy it, cause it doesn't look as if I can link my stereo amp with the s-video link. crap. Hmmm, this projection isn't exactly staying onto budget unfortunately.
So far I've spent:£115 for polaroid polaview 3000(all stuff included)
£20 on OHP(I ain't got it yet, but I know its gonna be crud)
£115 on an xbox and 6 games.(yet to recieve)
£0.01 on a s-video cable
I know, i know, I could have done it cheaper, but I only buy if I can sell it on with no loss. and lets face it, I can sell that x-box for about £200 no probs.
My bank balance looks as healthy as a fried mars bar.

I'll be sure to take some pics but I haven't recieved my MH kit from Alan yet so they are not going to look good though. I got my OHP for free and the fresnel is weird and it's got 2 REALLY bad halogen bulbs with low light and bad color temperature. I hope I get my MH kit soon.
My Xbox will arrive in 2-8 days and I think it's about the same with the X2VGA.
I've spent quite alot of money too and I'm hella-poor so I feel a little bad about all this:
Note: These aren't the EXACT prices because I was too lazy to look them up, but it gives you a good perspective anyway.
100$ Polaroid Polaview 3000
0$ OHP
180$ 250w MH + Ice ballast + Reflector
300$ Xbox
80$ X2VGA (And yes I concur, this X2VGA thing is quite expensive, I just hope it's worth it)
Total: 660$!! (without Xbox+X2VGA, 280$ lol)
phew, $180 for yer bulb and ballast and reflector!!!!! wow, I never contimplated that much for a new bulb.
I've always researched the projection panel route, not the OHP. By the way your buying items, what am I going to need to replace since I've just bought a bog standard twin bulb holding 250W OHP? Fresnel, whats wrong with the one already in it, or is it just better to replace it with a new one?
All I know is that it is the ROCHE ohp make, 2 X 24v, 250w BULBS.
Take a quick look at:

I don't know what to do with it. I could just sell it on again, and buy a AVP 400W 4000 lumen OHP but that costs £100. And I wanna play bout with the one I bought with it.

KC is Kansas City. Center of this big goofy country. 🙂
Now I gotta get out of this thread before I get accused of trying to hijack it!!! Sorry!

Well, keep in mind that the price I just estimated was including shipping. It's the damn ballast that costs, damn those things

And about all the OHP questions you got there, I am NOT the man to answer those questions. So people with more experience and knowledge in this, please answer ham_anegg's questions

kcsabresfan - it's allright, its seems me and takusama have already hijacked this topic. oops, soory main guy
