I've done my "proof of concept" to my better half, and have been given the go ahead to purchase a new/used LCD monitor to take apart for us in my projector. I tried a Viewsonic 15" that I got from work...VP150 or something like that...but one of the small cables was just entirely too short. Even with my soldering skills there was no way I could extend it (we are talking 25 pins in --> <-- this much space). Anyway, I am looking for the make and models of LCD monitors people know they can take apart and have cables long enough to get out of the way. I've followed a couple of threads, and have one or two in mind, so I will post those here:
Viewsonic VP140 - 14" 1024x768 Analog only input
-> No good. GATE_CN connector too short and too fragile for extension. Tried soldering and sanding/epoxy method.
I-O Data A15V - 15" 1024x768 Analog only input
-> Success. MayBQ succeed with pretty good results. Possible fragile cable, but no extension neccessary
Now, does anyone know of any other good LCD monitors that are easy to take apart and plenty of cabling? Preferably something with a digital input, but I will take anything at this point. I appreciate any help anyone can give.

Model?
Do you know the model of the Samsung you are thinking about? Maybe we can find someone who has had experience with it.

I have taken apart a viewsonic vg150 and am currently using it. Also tried taking apart a viewsonic VA520 and it's cables were too short.
Do a search for "I did it" or something like that. Someone here found a tedious yet very effective way to extend any flat cable w/o any soldering.
I've seen that post...the cable that I was dealing with was entirely too small to sand down with an degree of success. It was about 1/2 inch wide with 25 connectors on it...I have to go single strand cable to match the width of the leads, and with any voltage those would burn right up. Oh well 🙂
VG150 has plenty of cabling? Cool.

i picked up a vp140 stripped to see just how short the GATE_CN connector was and yep im sure it can be ext im just not sure with what sizes i tried counting the pins im sure there was only 20 may be guy stroke can shed some light or another expert
the nec 1510v is easy to strip and doesnt need cable extensions as long as you mount the boards at 90degrees to the lcd
