I ended up with a laptop with a bad motherboard and a good LCD. The specs aren't what I was hoping for but you can't beat FREE.
It came out of a Presario 1500. The Samsung part # is LTN150XB
Here the specs are for it:

RESOLUTION XGA
NUMBER OF PIXELS 1024 x 768
ACTIVE AREA(mm²) 304.5 x 228.4
PIXEL PITCH(mm) 0.279
NUMBER OF COLORS 262K
CONTRAST RATIO 250:1
BRIGHTNESS(cd/m²) 160
RESPONSE TIME(ms) 45
VIEWING ANGLE(U/D/L/R) 20/40/45/45
INTERFACE LVDS(1ch)
SUPPLY VOLTAGE(V) 3.3
BACKLIGHT 1CCFL
OUTLINE DIMENSION(mm) 317.3 x 242.0 x 6.2

I'm not happy with the # of colors, contrast ratio, or response time. Back to that FREE thing. I figure it's a good prelude to a 150MP.
Now on to my questions. The LCD has one board attached to it via 3 wide ribbon cables. Is this the LCD driver board?
On that board is a connector that hooks the LCD to the motherboard. it's about 25 terminals wide but only 13 are being used. The other end hooks to the motherboard right next to the ATI 7500 chip. It's a shielded cable so I'm thinking this is a standard 15 pin vga connector. Does anyone Know where I can find the pin out chart for this connector? Has anyone used this panel?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
John
