Lcd Display is way better

Hi
An LCD Monitor has a higher contrast Ratio and better Resolution than most panels.A panel has a contrast Ratio of about 60-150 when an LCD monitor can have 250-450.An LCD monitor is the way to go for better quality but a panel is good if you are new to the projection stuff and want to experiment. My choice is the LCD monitor for best results.
Hope this answers your question.

LCD from a monitor, no question. The contrast ratio, response time, resolution, and brightness are worlds apart. Of course the higher end projection panels are very nice and require little work.
A panel from a monitor will give you a dvi input as well, for the best image quality from a pc based dvd player.

Check the tutorials on th NEC 1545 and Nec1560M, both of these are relatively easy to disassemble(I havent tried yet, but I will soon), and the price is right. The specs on the 1560 are he best I have found yet, when you factor in the price and the ease f taking it apart.
Good Luck!

Both of these monitors are 15" monitors that have to be disassembled. There are 2 threads showing how to do just that. I will be selling my sharp qa-1150 on ebay. It is a lcd that simply sits on top of the overhead projector. It is nice, but the monitors are so much higher quality that to see it is astounding!
