I felt I needed to open this thread, I can't stress enough to the members here that if you buy an LCD panel ie: not a "factory case" just the panel itself. Be 100% certain that the seller is competent at packaging the item/s you have purchased! I just recieved my Ebay "winnings" today, one gorgeous Hitachi 15 inch panel SMASHED! one LG 12.1 panel...high res for a 12.1 @1024x768 also SMASHED! $75.16 US dollars worth of JUNK! Now turn that into Canadian dollars and add some shipping and we have close to $200.00 worth of JUNK!
I am posting the name of the seller, however it MUST be noted I am NOT CONDEMING them ...yet! They must be given adequate time to respond. The seller is HMR Los Angeles, Inc. they trade on Ebay as hmrla, they do answer their phone so there is hope! They do not appear to be a "scam or front". Upon contacting them they took my details and promissed to call me back. The screens were shipped in a single thickness carton with peanuts(foam) and buble wrap, they were allowed to contact each other (in static bags) throughout their entire journey. Both destroyed!
Had they been static bagged then a piece of corrugated cardboard placed on each face of the screen(front and back...slightly over the LCD dimension) then buble wrapped then peanutted I am certain they would be here in "Pristine" condition.
I place the CAUSE of damage in the hands of the postal service, however the REASON for the damage rests squarely on the shoulders of HMR Los Angeles, Inc.
Don't bet your paycheck that the seller knows how to pack something! If you have special instructions that you wish to be followed..get it in writing...even if it's only an Email.
zardoz...seeks compensation...negative results are not an option!

HMR looks like they are going to be good folks after all 🙂 They have responded and are willing to give me my money back...I told them I would be more than happy if they had a single screen that will fit my needs. They are compiling a list of available screens for my perusal. KUDOS to the reputeable Ebayer's!

Zardoz I always get mad when they charge handling fees, but at this point, I would gladly pay 20 to have someone professionally package the goods.
What kills for you is you're in Canada, so you not only pay handing, but you get ripped for shipping too.
Moral of this story, if you can avoid shipping between countries, pay a little for for someone locally, or call the seller and explain what has happened to items before, after all some people are a few lumins short of a show.
Also just to note in my $$$ post I noted that the seller never shipped me a panel, he claims that he had shipped and the canadian postal(I picture dogsleds with my panel everytime I tell this story) had lost the panel, and when he tried to check status, they were extremely rude to him about it(the kicker is he is refunding me the 30 for ppanl, but I am out 29 for shipping and he didn't have any kind of tracking # for me)
anyways unlesss Zardoz himself is selling me the item, I won't buy canadian, because 1 very bad experience
