LCD 15" with s-video in?

Hi, I've been lurking this forum for a while... did a lot of research but not got the answer:
I'm looking for a LCD monitor that could accept s-video in, other VGA and DVI cable, so I could use it with my standalone dvd player and not the PC.
I found out that samsung syncmaster series with suffix MP (ex. 510MP) accept these inputs, but nobody inserted them in the compatibility list.
Someone tried?

Any other model suggestion?

I was just about to ask the same thing. Has anyone successfully taken apart a Samsung 510mp cause it seems like it would be ideal with the built in tv tuner. I found them at tigerdirect.ca for $199 canadian which seems like a decent deal as well.

Yeah, at that price, it would be tough to buy a 350:1 25ms XGA display and an S-Video/composite/TV tuner box separately.

If someone gives this monitor the OK for strippability, it would pretty much be the ultimate solution for console gaming.

Where did you find it at tigerdirect for 199? I cant seem to find it, seems like a very, VERY nice deal, probably my choice for a DIYLCD projector, if its strippable. Even though Ill be using the PC to provide the upscaled svideo/composite, etc...

Cheers,
Alex

It was the open box one on tiger direct and they jacked the price up after I posted lol. It was 199 american at first.

I found a scanport on tigerdirect.ca that looks similar but has a slower response time (30ms) instead of the 25ms that the samsung has. How much does the response time affect a moving video image. Will there be lots of ghosting?
