Just bought an old Sony cdp950 with nice TDA1541A inside.
It works and reads discs but the transport makes a strange noise 😕 . If I skip the tracks it seems to loose energy, the motor turns slower and slower...
Can someone suggest me some repair?
Thanks in advance

I'm confused, does it not play disks correctly or are you just observing the change in spindle motor speed that occurs during normal disk play from the inside of the disk to the outer edge.. (Constant linear velocity IIRC)
The noise may be an indication of a need for lubrication depending on where it comes from. Possibly a motor needs replacement at this point as well.

Kevin, thanks for your reply. Oh I feel so naif
So the motor speed changes... I've opened the player because a very loud noise (the clamp? the motor?) and I've noticed also this variable speed. Ok, I've lubricated the transport and the clamp with teflon grease, now it's better. I cleaned the lens with isopropyl alcohol but sometimes the disc still skips mostly on the first track. Can I adjust the laser without oscilloscope? I own a Sony service manual and it seems that I definitely need it.
