No jazz fans here?
I was about to delete this to do a better search but it won't let me.
In particular I was wondering if any of you were Joey Alexander fans.

Joey's great. There are more vibrant young (and old) jazz artists than ever. I credit the streaming services and YouTube.
He's a beast for sure! Looking forward to following his career. And I fully agree with Bonjonno that there's so much good jazz out there. Both trad heavy cats and more contemporary players. Just hoping music and musicians will recover financially after Covid... It sure has made a pretty big dent in the industry.
Lately Iv'e been listening a bunch to Immanuel Wilkins, Yazz Ahmed, Nérija and Asher Gamedze if we're talking brand spanking new jazz. All pretty different from one another but all have cut really great albums in the last year or two.

I watched a TV bio of him a couple years ago. Makes me wonder if he's intrinsically unique or just an example of what can happen being plunged into something at such an early age, Tiger Woods for another example. Mind you without the inherent interest within there's no development/growth. Are we observing genius or cognitive focal direction? In any case Joey is such a pleasure he's one of those you just want to be around, what the world needs a lot more of. 🙂
