Laptop Projector

I'm going to turn an old laptop I have into an all-in-one projector. I was wondering if anyone had done this before. Essentially what I want to be able to do is have a box that projects the image which will contain everything I need and can just be plugged into the wall with one plug in. My idea is that if I build the whole laptop into the unit, I will already have all the ports, the LCD screen and everything else pretty much setup. Plus then I can put DVD's directly into the unit, or download/stream them using the wireless connection. The only wire that I'll need will be the one going into the wall, so it will be easy to move the thing when I need to.

The only problem is that not all screens are suitable for a projector. I attempted this on my Toshiba Laptop a while back however the Ribbon Cable and some of the circuit boards were in the way and there was no other way to move them out of the way.

If I could of got hold of a modified ribbon cable for that particular model then I would have been only half way there as I could not figure out how to mount the circuit board in another position and have it connected at the same time. I eventually scrapped the idea.
