Hi folks, it's been a while since I decided to get a step further with my actual project. Well now I'm about to order my xover parts and I wonder where I could find 0.05mH coil? I planned to buy solen component but it seems that they have nothing below 0.1 . I don't have an inductance metter or whatever it is called , I don't have it 😀. I don't want to wind it by myself because I worry about the copper quality available. Any suggestions ?

EDIT: Ok maybe I could wind it by myself, I guess I probably would😉 ,yeah tell me!

In the Montreal region, King George Electronique has some. You'll prolly end up with more quality than needed, but they can even wind it for you if you know exactly what you need in terms of wire gauge, wire type and center type.

Hope this helps you.

Of course Parts Express would have it 🙂

And I don't know how you could wind it without an inductance meter, you would be better off getting a .1 and unwinding ½ of it.

Hmm, I don't know if inductance depends on the number of row, it probably depends on an overall base because of the enlargment of the coil with rows but im not sure anyway...

Partexpress, of course, but I'd have to pay an extra 15$us just fro 2 / 0.05coils so its a no go cuz I'm on a budjet...

Hey, if they ship their product to Quebec, it would be just perfect!

Thanks

56 turns of 22 gauge magnet wire on a 0.5" nonmagnetic core, 0.25" in length.
(8 layers, 7 turns per layer)

Rdc=0.17 ohms
Wire length = ~10.5 feet per coil, not including leads.

You can buy 22ga wire at radio shack
Catalog #: 278-1345
