I noticed that the LA-235 has EL84 tubes and that a post on another audio website speaks of the LA-240SE having EL84 tubes .
The LA-235 is available online and its not a hard circuit to trace a fault out on.

I need the LA-240 schematic because I have the OTs and the power transformer from this amplifier.
I want to build the amplifier based on the original schematic diagram but I cannot find it. 🙁

I cannot find the original schematic either. But looking at some pictures on the web it looks very similar to a LA-224. Probably with higher plate voltage to achieve the higher output power: I can clearly see the EL84 shared cathode resistor of 200 Ohm in stead of 130 in the LA-224. As the Lafayette schematics are straight forward I think you cannot go wrong to take the schematics of the LA-224 and LA-235 to start with.
