Lack of response when navigating site?

Using a Mac with Google Chrome, I am having great difficulty navigating the site. A single click on a link results in waiting, and the wait frequently doesn't resolve itself until I click a second or third time, or, worst case, until I highlight the URL of the new page and hit enter on the keyboard.

This is with browsing data on Chrome maintained and cleared on a regular basis. It does not occur on other sites.

Anyone else having these problems, and any suggestions? I haven't yet tried an alternative browser. TIA - Pat

It's likely something local. It happens from time to time but 5 minutes later, all's well. I am Mac and Chrome also. Occasionally going to Safari for that 5 minutes helps.

Was having probs with Safari as well. Did a speed test this morning, and found my (wireless) download speed was 1.67 Mbps. Plugged in via ethernet and I was up around 15-18 Mbps.

Poked around (using Kismac) and found that my router (for Uverse) was using channel 11 for me, and that two neighbors were also on the same channel. Switched to another, unused, channel, and all is good, with wireless now at 15 Mbps.

Remember the good old days when the only computers were IBM 370s?

When it does this again 😀 try switching straightaway to Google DNS and see if it resolves the issue.

You would have to try it. Once you know how to alter it, and it takes less than half a minute to do, you can instantly see if the problem is resolved.

Luckily this site and anandtech (lots are having problems on that site also) are quite fast for me usually everytime 🙂
