L-pad

For simple up/down volume control, is an L-Pad the best route? Also, this will be a 2 speaker stereo system. Do I really need a stereo L-pad or can I just use a mono L-Pad and wire leads from both speakers to it to simultaneously reduce output volume to both?

Thank you in advance

An L-pad is for reducing the volume of a tweeter, and it retains the correct input impedance (e.g. 8 ohms) and at the same time gives attenuation. Constant input impedance is needed otherwise the filter will not work.
Only when you have two stereo amplifiers you can, with a separate volume control, reduce the two tweeters at the same time. That is a costly operation thou compared with an L-pad (costing somewhere between use 20-30.)
