Anyway I tried reflowing some solderings here and there and the magic happened: LED turned on and TP1 read 10.1V, being all other tests correct. Fiuuuu...I suspect Q2 wasn't working properly.
Great result, yes Q2 not being soldered down totally explains why the LED didn't light up and TP1 was too low. DAC chips are at all jaunty angles, that's a work of art. For a first try, pretty good!
