Today I found out random skipping of my nakamichi4 is based on a mechanical failure of one of the gearwheels driving the laser unit and not - as suspected - on the laser unit itself. Thats bigger trouble for me as a whole drive unit ksm210 is hard to find and expensive (60euros and above)....ksm213 is only 15euros, but the corrsponding gearwheel is bigger and the plugs from the laser unit kss213 are different.
My questions:
- can I replace the original drive unit ksm210 with ksm213 and attach my original laser unit kss210?
- which players despite HK7450 and NAD512 use the drive unit ksm210 that I can buy on ebay for providing a spare part?
- Does anyone on this dear list have a spare wheel for me? I can provide specs on demand
Here's some pics of my trouble:
Drive unit ksm/ksl210: www.holsti.de/tempfiles/ksm210.jpg
dead gearwheel: www.holsti.de/tempfiles/zahnrad.jpg
Drive unit explosion from manual: www.holsti.de/tempfiles/ksm210_explo.jpg
Any help is very appreciated. Last possibility would be to clone the dead wheel with epoxy, but that will take days :-(
