A supplier Flip Electronics has over 10K of these. Their web site looks impressive:

Has anyone bought from them and can confirm that they got quality parts?
Does anyone know of another reliable source for them?
I'm interested in 50-100 quantity.

I go with the Toshiba equivalent devices these days (TTA004B, TTC004B) - same package, a little less capacitance. The Mouse has them, and they're cheap in 100 piece quantities.
I'm going to buy some of those Toshibas but they are not even close for SOA, not sure if they rate them differently, I don't think so.
Flip got back to me, their minimum buy is 1163 parts, I want about 1/10 of that, have to think about it more.
Looks like they have a $500 minimum.

So it’s another Rochester ($300 min per line item).
When reading the tea leaves back then I really thought the Fairchild pair would be the last man standing.
That’s why my faves were the Sanyo parts (C3902 and PNP). They were better than all of them. My lifetime buy was like 6 or 7 years ago now.I'm going to buy some of those Toshibas but they are not even close for SOA, not sure if they rate them differently, I don't think so.

No affiliation, he looks legit.
Or you could buy from Flip, and sell the extra ones.

Quest Components has KSA1220AO in stock, 10 piece min. These are the next tier down from the "Y" hfe.
I found this, if you trust the seller...

I did have a look at the spec sheets, and yes, there is a big difference in the SOA curves between the Toshiba devices and the Fairchild/OnSemi parts.
