I bought a Krell KST-100 while living abroad a few years ago. I've brought it back to the states now and I'd like to switch it back to 120V.
(It was originally a 120V model as indicated on the backpanel.)
The previous owner did the switch to 220V. Anybody know how to put it back on US input voltage ?
> There must be some dip switch combination.
Opening the top I can see two large red switches now in the "1" and "2" positions, but I have no user manual, soooooo......

Idea!
Well, that Krell has some nice looking heat sinks, anyway.
The chassis would make a nice starting block for an Aleph, you know...
Hopefully, someone might have a copy of the manual for you! I'll ask around a bit, and see if any friends have a lead for you!

Hello my Krell friend,
KRELL is
always like that!
I'v had the same problem with all the preamps I'v had from Krell.
I don't know for shure what the voltage is in the US. but I think 120Volts right?! The Power supply switches have 2 possitions one and two (1&2).
For the Netherlands I'v set both switches to two (2) primary windings in series. Each winding is (dont know for shure) 110 Volts. I think that you'll have to put both switches to 1 and than check the voltage with a volt meter. I'm gona try to check my SBP-64X power suply and will mail you later.
Hold on there! I'll be back in a few minutes! DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING YET!

GLOWNOTE,
I think we have a problem! My Krell power suply has a 230/115 volt switch, nothing more.
But! The transformers say 1 to 2 = 115 volts and 3 to 4 = 115 volts.
And looking at the fact that you can use your amp in 4 different input voltages, I recomend you to wait till someone that (use to)have a KRELL Amp is able to help you with it. I did the best I could. Sorry!
I hope/know you will succeed on this forum.

Thanks all. So I guess I will have to wait. Yes. if I had the patience I could build an Aleph or something. But not now.
Funny thing is, Martin Logan is doing the speakers for free. Krell must be into profit maximization.

A Martin Logan! Thats great! The CLS?
I'v had a CLS I, whow what a speaker
In The Netherlands when you bring it to the ML service You'll have to pay atleast €2500,= to have new panels, labor not incl. Thats why I started making my own ESL. It looks like the Final 1.4 but shorter and with much more db!
Thats a wonderfull gift from Gayle Sanders!

Just pester them and eventually they will tell you. I confronted Dan Agistino at a hi fi show for the £150 his agents in UK wanted to charge me and his minions emailed me the combination the next day.
I think manufacturers who do this are breaking consumer laws. If you are in the US can't you use the freedom of informationnlaws?
