hi i need help with korg b1,can any body recommend a 24v power supply for the preamp unfortunately here in the uk we cannot get the triad power supply recommended, i have got it to work with a 24v smps i had from a previous project but had to use a choke and a few rc filters to keep it quiet (not ideal) still a bit of low noise at 0 volume !
also this is gonna sound dumb, it quotes (Remember that the preamp is phase-inverting. In order to get the correct absolute phase coming out of the speaker you must invert the phase after the preamp. The easiest place to do this is at the loudspeaker.) in the pdf, does that mean (+to -)(-to+)at the speaker terminals thanks a layman

Hi
There is a B1 Korg thread with more posters, but here we go...
I used this PS with success; MeanWell SGA25E24-P1J
And yes, just invert + and - at speaker terminals (or red and black depending on your LS, it is the same)

No noise whatsoever...
You may want to use the search finction by posters, posted quite a few bits on the original built and also on mods, all in the original thread under my name.
Good luck

hi thanks for your advice ,the meanwell power supply arrived today, sounds a lot better, and quiet
another question i had put a led on the case which worked fine with the old power supply ,the led was driven by a buck converter (see pic) and what i thought was a good idea at the time, then switched on the meanwell and it kept on shutting down, realized it didn't like the converter now no led!what would be the best way to drive the led (24v-3v) a simple resistor ? or would that get too hot and take a fair bit of oomph from the power supply, ? ideas please
