Hi All,
I have a Korg AX5G Guitar effect-processor, which has failed and now has a strange output noise without any input (guitar not plugged in). Switching the selector, the noise changes its level and intensity. With guitar plugged in, there is no change in the output signal (noise).
I’ve checked the input/output jacks, but everything seems to be OK. I suspect that either the DAC or the OP-Amp are faulty. In the worst case, maybe it is the DSP.
Luckily I have another donor PCB, so I’ll try to change these components. Because they are placed inconvenient and the risk of damaging the PCB is high, I would like to start over with the most suspicious element, so my sequence will be op-amp -> DAC -> DSP.
Any ideas about the source of the noise or other approach to repair will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Ceco
P.S. Thanks to Vangelis for the submitted schema of the device.
