knob with deep recess

Looking for a knob to hide the threaded bushing below the shaft on this volume pot. It's been suggested that I lower the threaded section below the chassis plate and secure it with a set screw and solder glue, but If I can find a knob to cover it up I would prefer that. Let me know if you have a source, thanks!

Look for a vintage knob, when all mounting was similar. For example,
Dynaco solid aluminum knobs.

Looking around, you will find them.

Absolute worst case, you can have a couple aluminum knobs turned from aluminum bar.

I've had that done, $30 or more per knob at a machine shop (with no knurling) plus set-up.

You could shorten the shaft with a dremel tool and cut-off wheel.
