Hello,
A friend has acquired a pair of 1960's era La Scalas. One has a blown woofer. He is having trouble figuring out how to access the woofer to replace. He says they are covered in 'rat fur', that I assume is a 'carpet-like' covering used for pro-sound applications. Does anyone out there have experience with these cabs? How can he access that woofer? Thanks in advance for any help.

Cyclotronguy,
Thanks. My friend just called to say he finally located the access to the woofer...where the crossover attaches is a panel that can be removed...he has replaced the offending woofer. Thanks again for the reply.

Tell your friend that with upgraded crossovers the La Scalla's although a bit shy at both ends of the spectrum can be "amazing".
Given clean amplification they have detail, articulation and dynamics that are just unreal!
